The next Midlothian Science Zone Business Forum will take place on Tuesday 1st July, joined by Andy Chadder, Head of in vitro Biosafety at Moredun Scientific Ltd., who will introduce the biosafety services they can offer to businesses 'in the zone' and beyond.
Andy is a subject matter expert for biosafety testing, cleanroom validation and manufacturing who has contributed to numerous successful regulatory inspections from MHRA, US FDA and other competent authorities.
Moredun Scientific conducts regulatory compliant, contract biosafety testing of biopharmaceuticals, cell lines, virus seeds and bulk harvests to ensure that client’s products are free from contaminating adventitious agents (e.g. bacteria, viruses, mycoplasma).

The company tests a range of biopharmaceutical types including therapeutic antibodies, recombinant proteins, vaccines and cell therapy products. Their portfolio of pharmacopoeial compliant assays includes GLP In vivo and GMP Microbiology Tests.
The experienced biosafety testing team work in partnership with clients to ensure the on time delivery of test results.
Moredun Scientific is the commercial arm of the Moredun Foundation, established in 1988. Profits are transferred to the Foundation, which uses the funds to support further research programmes at the Moredun Research Institute, on Pentlands Science Park.

Midlothian Science Zone (MSZ) Business Forum is hosted several times a year to encourage engagement and collaboration between organisations 'in the zone'.
The events aim to bring together a wide range of businesses to identify shared support needs, collaborative opportunities and share knowledge across the region; signposting to research, expertise and business services.
Guest speakers are invited to present on themes of interest and benefit to our community.
This event will be hosted on Pentlands Science Park in the Moredun Boardroom.
