Public engagement and gathering space for meeting and interaction across Campus
We offer space where people can communicate physically and intellectually, and provide access to shared facilities and services that allow meeting and interaction across Campus.
The Easter Bush Science Outreach Centre (EBSOC) has been created to develop public engagement. It provides an education facility, workshops and materials for schools to raise interest and awareness of science to the next generation.
EBSOC was designed to develop new relationships and raise public awareness through educational events and workshops.
The team offer an exciting programme of hands-on science workshops for local, national and international primary and secondary schools. In addition, online educational resources are available for P6 to S6 pupils, to support learning in the classroom and information about our teacher professional development courses.
There is also a programme of molecular biology and genetic focused workshops for further education college students of all levels.

The gym at Easter Bush Campus is located on the ground floor of the Charnock Bradley Building and was the first 'satellite gym' for the University of Edinburgh.
It is staffed by the University's Sport & Exercise team and Membership is available exclusively to Roslin Innovation Centre tenants, Midlothian Science Zone Partners, as well as University of Edinburgh students and staff.
The facility went through a complete refurbishments in August 2025, transforming the space to offer members an even better training experience, featuring state-of-the-art Technogym equipment and an enhanced layout to support a wide range of workouts.
This investment reflects our commitment to providing world-class facilities for our University community and helping members achieve their health and fitness goals.
In addition to gym workouts, there are Personal Training sessions, group exercise programmes, workshops, boot camps and a trim trail.Easter Bush Oncology Group
The Easter Bush Oncology Group host monthly seminar meetings on various aspects of oncology. This is an opportunity for Campus individuals to hear more about the work taking place and meet others on Campus focussed on this area. The launch session was presented by Maciej Parys, Vet Clinical Lectureship, on the topic 'From diagnostics to novel therapeutics for canine cancer'.
Easter Bush Mums’ Group
The Easter Bush Mums' Group meets on the last Tuesday of the month in the Roslin basement atrium. The aim is to create a supportive community for those returning from maternity leave, to discuss the trials and offer advice on the successes in a relaxing and informal atmosphere with tea/coffee and cake.
Roslin Innovation Centre is the focal point to the Campus and everyone is welcome, from nurturing young talent to providing knowledge exchange opportunities for bioscience companies at varying stages of maturity.
