RIC Lunch-time Seminar: Lessons in intellectual property

Roslin Innovation Centre is hosting a series of monthly events for RIC tenants and members with short presentations on topics relevant to founding companies and SMEs. 

The format of these will be a brief presentation and Q&A of 30 to 40 minutes, followed by an opportunity for RIC tenants and members to have a one-to-one session with the presenters.

The topic of these events will vary from month to month which will cover data security, IP,  R&D tax breaks, mental health awareness, funding opportunities/schemes, lab sustainability, improving your negotiation skills,  new technology  etc.

Intellectual Property (IP) may be your business's most valuable asset.  Yet the road to investment can be a long and winding one.  

This practical session presented by David Gourlay, a Partner in Morton Fraser MacRoberts Commercial Team, will look at the legal side of IP and help you get investment ready.  

It will highlight the importance of having a clear IP strategy from the get-go, which will help you to identify and protect your IP and provide guidance on things to look out for as you set out on your journey to develop and scale your business.
